Flood Warning issued June 3 at 11:47AM CDT until June 3 at 3:45PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Southeast Kansas, including the following county, Labette. * WHEN...Until 345 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks, streams, streets, country roads, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1147 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated areas of moderate to heavy rain moving northeast across southeast Kansas. At 11:29 AM CDT, broadcast media reported partial flooding on Highway 166 just east of Edna. Additional areas of flooding are likely across the county. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area through early to mid afternoon. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Parsons, Oswego, Chetopa, Altamont, Edna, Mound Valley, Bartlett, Labette, Big Hill Lake, Angola, Dennis and Parsons Tri City Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
