Neosho River near Emporia affecting Lyon County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Emporia. * WHEN...From late tonight to Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Minor flooding occurs along the river upstream to Dunlap and downstream to Neosho Rapids. At 19.5 feet, Prairie Street, north of the bridge, floods. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:22 PM CDT Monday the stage was 10.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 22.5 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
