Flood Warning issued June 4 at 7:54PM CDT until June 5 at 7:45AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following counties, Butler and Sedgwick. * WHEN...Until 745 AM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 752 PM CDT, Line of storms producing high rainfall rates has either moved through the area or will be moving into the area over the next couple of hours and will likely produce flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wichita, Derby, El Dorado, Andover, Haysville, Augusta, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire, Mulvane, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Clearwater, Douglass, Sedgwick, Towanda, Colwich, Benton and Whitewater. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 4 at 7:57PM CDT until June 4 at 8:45PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS At 757 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Potwin to near Mulvane, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Derby, El Dorado, Andover, Haysville, Augusta, Mulvane, Rose Hill, Douglass, Towanda, Benton, Whitewater, Leon, Potwin, Latham, Rosalia, Santa Fe Lake, El Dorado State Park, Augusta Municipal Airport, El Dorado Airport, and Beaumont. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
